Historic visit: UAE Minister of Education visits TAU
The Emirati Minister of Education also visited the BCDD's soon-to-launched metabolomic center that should transform researchers understanding of human health and disease
Tel Aviv University and the UAE are strengthening their academic cooperation: TAU last week hosted a delegation headed by the Emirati Minister of Education, Hussain Bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, for a historic visit. The visit, the first by an Emirati government official at TAU, took place in the presence of TAU's President Prof. Ariel Porat and Vice President International, Prof. Milette Shamir.
The visit focused on promoting innovation and multidisciplinary collaboration, two fields in which TAU has accumulated massive expertise. The minister was impressed by the diverse academic activity and noted that he will act towards the promotion of academic cooperation between the two states.

The future of medical education
The delegation visited the BLAVATNIK CENTER for Drug Discovery, where they met Prof. Ehud Gazit, who showed them the various developments of the center. In addition, Prof. Ronit Satchi-Fainaro, of the Sackler Faculty of Medicine and Sagol School of Neuroscience, gave the delegation a presentation about her world-pioneering research in which she created the first 3D-bioprinted model of an active glioblastoma tumor.
Prof. Gazit noted, "We were extremely happy to host a distinguished delegation from the United Arab Emirates headed by H.E. Hussein Ibrahim Al Hammadi, UAE Minister of Education. We presented the cutting-edge research at our center and had an excellent discussion together with Prof. Ronit Ronit Satchi-Fainaro of science and the future of medical education. The delegation also visited our soon-to-launched metabolomic center that should transform our understanding of human health and disease".
